do anyone know how to correctly put in the sims 2 pet cheats codes?

For the other cheats like money motive etc are coming up what am doing wrong its for playstation not the ps2 sims cheat codes and it said to put in code for playstation not the gnome did that and it said to put in code for gnome but none of the gnome but.
